Project Spectrum Revealed A Tactical Horror Shooter With Sanity Mechanics

Gamescom 2025 had no shortage of surprises, but one of the most intriguing reveals was Project Spectrum, a brand-new tactical horror shooter from Team Jade, the studio behind the Delta Force reboot.
Unlike traditional shooters, Project Spectrum blends PvEvP combat with unsettling survival elements. Players drop into warped battlegrounds known as Ember Zones, mysterious areas twisted by an unknown force. These zones bend reality, creating shifting environments that keep squads on edge at every turn.

The twist comes with sanity management. As firefights drag on and environments distort, players must balance not only health and ammo but their character’s mental state. Losing control can leave teams vulnerable in a fight where both other squads and AI threats are gunning for survival.
Another standout feature is the Executioner system. Instead of scripted bosses, powerful hunters are controlled by other players, creating unpredictable encounters. The result feels like a hybrid of Hunt Showdown’s extraction tension and Silent Hill’s psychological atmosphere.
Team Jade hasn’t announced a release window yet, but the reveal confirms they’re aiming for a next-gen experience on PC and consoles. With its eerie tone and squad-based tactics, Project Spectrum could be one of the most original shooters to emerge from Gamescom this year.
